There is still that “Rat Pack” feel at the Sahara, from the portraits on the walls, to the last, original camel in the lobby. The Moroccan-themed Sahara was well-known for being a famous hangout of the Rat Pack and is the only remaining casino from that era still standing. The Sahara opened in 1952 as the sixth resort on the strip. Thanks to reader Jennifer Quintana, who spotted this fantastic sale: Starting Thursday, June 16, all contents of the famous Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas will be sold. Retro Renovation stopped publishing in 2021 these stories remain for historical information, as potential continued resources, and for archival purposes.
